Registered Veterinary Technicians
Cindy Beard, RVT
Cindy has been a Registered Veterinary Technician for 28 years. Along with her Veterinary Technician degree, she also has two Bachelor's degrees. She loves working with her dogs in different sporting venues like agility, obedience and UKC nosework. She has 3 beautiful Golden Retrievers, 2 cats, a guinea pig and a rabbit. Cindy has been raising Future Leader Dogs for the blind for the past 4 years. Her greatest joy is learning about the clients who were paired with the Leader dog puppies she has raised, hearing about how her puppies have changed those lives for the better!
Jessi Miller, RVT
Jessi is a Registered Veterinary Technician and has been at Veterinary Services since 2006. She and her husband, Greg, have 2 daughters that keep them very busy. One is a junior in college, majoring in Voice with a concentration in Opera. The other is a junior in high school, planning to graduate early and study piano in college. Jessi has 2 Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and 2 cats. She enjoys traveling and camping with her family when she is not working.
Shannon L. Bartels, RVT
Shannon joined our staff in February of 2010. She graduated from Purdue University in 2007 with her bachelor degree in Veterinary Technology. She and her husband, Paul, have two daughters, Chloe (8) and Peyton (6), which always keep them on their toes. With both girls in school, they are very busy with homework and after school activities such as gymnastics and girl scouts. When not busy with work and home, Shannon’s family enjoys visiting to different zoos, watching movies, and doing lots of activities on Webster Lake. Shannon’s furry family includes two Lab mixes (Zeek and Rigby), a Chirussell (Rango), and five female cats (Corona, Snickers, Rosetta, Tiger Lilly, and Trinity). All get along great even though they have their own little quirks!
Jennifer Dunn, RVT
Jen began working at Veterinary Services in late 2011. She graduated from Michigan State University Veterinary Technology program in 2009. Although she and her husband recently moved to Ft. Wayne from Michigan, they remain true Michigan State fans. Go Spartans!!! She and her husband welcomed their first child, Joshua, in 2013. He is such a joy and already a huge Michigan State fan!!! Jen has a sweet Golden Retriever mix named Cadence and a miniature golden doodle named Bella. In her spare time, she enjoys scrap-booking, camping and spending time with family.
Heather Rennecker, R.V.T.
Heather began working at Veterinary Services as a high school intern in 2007 and has been working here ever since! She graduated from Purdue University's Veterinary Technology Distance Learning Program in 2014. Heather currently has 2 dogs, 1 cat and 8 goats! When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her boyfriend, Zack. Heather also enjoys gardening, hiking with her dogs and anything involving the outdoors. Here at Veterinary Services, she is our Patient Care Technician. From extra blankets to monitoring pain and intravenous fluids, we can be sure our patients are in good hands with Heather!
Danielle SeCheverell R.V.T.
Danielle started working for Veterinary Services in April of 2015. She and her husband, Chris, live in a happy zoo of their own making with their black lab (Colt), 5 cats (Mugi, Maki, Moxxi, Mishka, and Buddy), 2 parakeets, 3 fat gold fish, and 4 chickens. Danielle and Chris volunteer as rehabbers for Soaring Hawk. She loves exotics and hopes to branch out into working at the zoo, aquarium or wild animal sanctuary caring for all types of animals.
Doris has worked as a veterinary assistant for over 18 years at several different clinics and has been with Veterinary Services since 2004. She works in the mornings assisting with appointments, helping with surgeries or filling in wherever needed. She is also in charge of our Facebook page and sending out email reminders. When not at work, Doris keeps up with her busy family, supporting her children in their athletic and music activities. She and her husband, Bob, have 4 children, though only 2 are still living at home. She also has a mixed breed dog and 3 cats, all rescues pets!
Heather moved to Ft. Wayne and began working as an assistant at Veterinary Services in May of 2015. She first started working in the veterinary field in 2009, during a high school internship. Although Heather currently has a paralegal degree, she plans on obtaining a degree in Veterinary Technology and working as an Equine Technician in the future. She has a Chinese dwarf hamster, a Quarter horse, and just added a sweet puppy to the family!
Ann got her start working with pets in 1988 at East State Veterinary Clinic and has continued her love of animals. She has been working with Dr. Jill since 1995. The one-on-one of a small practice keeps her in touch with our clients. Ann's job is keeping things organized and also helping with the animals. She has eight cats of her own on the "plantation" she shares with her husband, Larry.
